The openSUSE team have released another great distro for the Linux community. I came from Windows in 2005 and haven't looked back since.
It's very simple to set up, the most common features are in places you would expect to find them, and it just makes things absurdly easy to do.
I did not need to find any specialist software for my printer/scanner, webcam (with mic), my MP3 and MP4 players, USB memory sticks or my family's mobile phones - you plug them in and openSUSE figures out what to do with them.
All this on top of Linux's famous immunity to 99.9999% of viruses, the one-stop shop for 1000's of free pieces of software, and rock-solid stability and performance. What isn't to like? Well, my only little gripe is that openSUSE could make installing software a little clearer. Ubuntu seems to be a little easier on the eye when it comes to installing software, but at least YaST doesn't make a total hash job of it, it will not install things that are going to break your system.
If you're worried about your security on the 'net - don't be. There's an A+ grade firewall in there too, and it's a snap to set up. Viruses are not going to be a concern, and you can set up access rules per user.

First, this set is of older version, there's new version of OpenSUSE 11.4 Linux, 4-Disks DVD Installation and Reference Set Ed. 2011
And the new set is way beeter than this old one. It is complete with all installation files on DVDs wit reference books, moreover it included breif into to Linux on video-DVD. Speaking of this older 11.

This 11.2 version is two releases behind and the difference is showing. New 11.4 release has much better installation, updated drivers, graphics, everything. I tried 11.2 when it was first released back in 2009 and I remember having installation problems, so I installed then fedora instead. New 11.4 is great Linux. It installed on our 5 computers without any issues and we are quite happy with it. OpenSUSE 11.4 Linux, 4-Disks DVD Installation and Reference Set Ed.
